2017 DEC EOY J-Culture Festival, Marina Barrage, Singapore

9 December 2017 Saturday

091217 (Sat) Day One

The last cosplay event of the year for Singapore.

I reached the Marina Barrage at 1000 hours, the stall holders were busy preparing their merchandise and the performers were doing their rehearsals.

It started to drizzle at midday.

The crowd only came in at around 1400 hours.

Quite a good number of cosplayers and photographers that came for the event.

I went home at 1700 hours.

Cheers.

Note: I’m not able to post process the 2017 EOY photos until I’m back from the 2017 Comic Fiesta, Malaysia.

101217 (Sun) Day Two

I reached the Marina Barrage at around 1100 hours today.

Not that many cosplayers and photographers that came down.

The weather was quite hot with the sun up.

I went home early at 1430 hours as I had to go to work.

Have a safe trip for those making their way to the 2017 Comic Fiesta in Malaysia next week.

23 November 2017 Thursday

I managed to check out the preparation of the 2017 AFA at Suntec City today during my lunch time.

Looks good as there are no other exhibition at the Level 3 concourse.

It was really quiet with not much people, only some who came down to buy the tickets.

Hopefully, the blinds at the Level 3 concourse will not be deployed.

Cheers.

241117 (Fri) Day One

I came down at around 1100 hours and there were not that many cosplayers and photographers.

Unfortunately, the blinds at the Level 3 concourse were deployed.

There was a Health Promotion Board (HPB) mini booth that was distributing the health tracker at Level 3.

The security baggage check was at Level 4 before entering the exhibition area and the security guards were using a stick to poke around inside the bag.

I did not really take much photos today and went back home around 1700 hours.

Cheers.

251117 (Sat) Day Two

It is the second day of the 2017 C3 Anime Festival Asia Singapore.

I reached Suntec City at around 1100 hours and there was not much cosplayers and photographers.

The crowd only started to swell at around 1400 hours.

There was a ballroom dance competition and the participants were practising their dance moves at the hallway, sharing space with the cosplayers.

It rained at around 1700 hours and the Level 3 concourse started to get dark.

Many cosplayers and photographers started to move from the Level 3 concourse to the hallways as it was very dark.

I stayed around till 1900 hours as most of the cosplayers started to pack up to go for their dinner.

261117 (Sun) Day Three

The third and last day of the 2017 C3 Anime Festival Asia Singapore.

The ballroom dancing competition was still going on Sunday.

No queue to buy the tickets when I was there from 1100 to 1700 hours.

After three days of taking photos of the cosplayers it was taking a toll on my body and I did not really take that many photos.

See you at the last cosplay event here in Singapore, 2017 EOY J-Culture Festival at The Marina Barrage and I will also make my way for the 2017 Comic Fiesta, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia.

Many thanks to all the cosplayers that posed for the camera without fear or favour.

Cheers.

15 November 2017 Wednesday

151117 (Wed)

I only knew about the full scale model Batman Knightcrawler  from the news today.

The only full scale model and the first showcase of it is in Singapore.

I made a short trip down to Vivocity after lunch.

Quite an impressive full scale model.

Looking forward to catch the movie Justice League.

Cheers.

2017 NOV DC Appreciation Day, Downtown East, Singapore

4 November 2017 Saturday

041117 (Sat) Day One

This is the last cosplay event before the end of the month of November, Anime Festival Asia.

I reached Downtown East at 1200 hours and the doors to the D’Marquee were still closed and decided to have my lunch first.

Unfortunately, the Downtown East  carparks and walkways near the D’Marquee are still under renovation.

There were not that many cosplayers that came down for the event today and the D’Marquee was quite empty.

Quite a good props setup by the Cosfest committee for this event.

I stayed around till 1530 hours.

Cheers.

Date: 4 (Sat) – 5 (Sun) November 2017

Cheers.

2017 OCT 2nd Stage Idolicious, Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, Singapore

28 October 2017 Saturday

281017 (Sat)

I came down at around 1430 hours after work.

I was quite surprised to see that the whole level 3 at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre was fully occupied.

Upon further inspection, the 2nd idolicious area took only one third of the space and the rest were taken up by a health event, Nepal booth and a tour agency.

There was also a Purple Parade event for the handicapped at the ground level and the roads leading to Suntec were closed because of it.

Quite a good turnout from the cosplay community, cosplayers and photographers, for this small event.

Cheers.

2017 SEPT Witness to War: Remembering 1942, National Museum of Singapore, Singapore

30 September 2017 Saturday

300917 (Sat)

I have some free time this weekend and decided to check out the World War 2 exhibition at the National Museum of Singapore which was officially opened last week.

There were not much exhibition material and mostly fillers.

The place was really dark and I have to be frank that I did not see the Lieutenant General Tomoyuki Yamashita katana until reading articles about the exhibition after I reached home.

I believe that it is a good exposure to bring the children to the exhibition.

However, for history buff, it is on the light side.

Event: Witness to War Remembering 1942
Date: 23 (Sat) September 2017 – 25 (Sun) March 2018
Time: 10 am – 7 pm | 1000 – 1900 hours
Venue: Exhibition Galleries, Basement Level, National Museum of Singapore
Admission:
Free admission for Citizens, Permanent Residents and visitors aged 6 years and below.
