2010 RAAF F111 grounded in Singapore during the SA2010 back in Amberley, Australia

Information from a forum member in the local Singapore flight internet forum is that the RAAF F111 that was forced to make an emergency landing when onboard instrumentation indicated an engine fire during the Singapore Airshow 2010 (SA2010) flight display on 110210 (Thu) has left Singapore on 270210 (Sat) after repairs for the RAAF base Amberley.

Many thanks to the RAAF F111 pilots and crew who performed at the Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition 2009 (LIMA 2009) Malaysia and at the Singapore Airshow 2010 (SA2010).

The RAAF F111 will be decommisioned on December 2010.

On December 3 and 4 the RAAF’s Amberley base will host the “Pig Tails” retirement ceremony for the F-111. Many current and former servicemen with associations with the “Pig” will gather to honor the unique contribution the old warhorse has made to Australian military aviation.
