2012 Aokatec GPS Receiver AK-G2 for Nikon D600, Singapore

27 October 2012 Saturday

There is still no builtin GPS for Nikon DSLR.

I tested the Aokatec GPS today, there is now no GPS icon on the top LCD of the D600.

The GPS icon can only be seen on the front information display when you press the white info button.

The Aokatec is using the U-blox GPS chipset.

]2[ Front view with attached security lanyard.

]3[ View of the male pin.

]4[ Side view with an Off and On switch, LED and a remote interface.

]5[ GPS port on the D600.

]6[ Aokatec AK-G2 attached to the D600.

]7[ Back view, there is a 2mm gap between the AK-G2 with the D600 body.

I placed a double sided tape foam to prevent the AK-G2 from moving and damaging the GPS port on the D600.

]8[ Side view with red LED.

]9[ Security lanyard attached to the eyelet of the camera strap.

]10[ Full side view of camera with lens and the AK-G2.
